Lakeview Memorial Cemetery & Mortuary
Bountiful, Utah
Rising up the hills of the Bountiful countryside and touching upon the Wasatch National Forest, Lakeview Cemetery is a place dedicated to your loved ones and to the riches of nature. Drive along South Bountiful Boulevard and stop at the top of Lakeview Cemetery. Look out past the blue aura of the Great Salt Lake and across to the copper radiance of the Oquirrh Mountains. The solitude and peacefulness you feel can bring you closer to nature and give you a peaceful moment of reflection upon the life of a lost loved one.
Look down and your eyes will focus on a bronze statue by renowned local artist Stanley James Watts. “Appeal to Divine Providence” depicts our founding fathers in steadfast prayer as the birth of our nation is taking place in the forge of revolution. The Compton family lovingly donated this solemn piece of art. Surrounding the statue is a beautiful granite cremation repository. What better way to preserve the memory of a loved one who served in the armed forces protecting what our founding fathers struggled to bring forth.
Walk down the hill past the statue. Listen. Let your senses guide you.
The prattle of birds, the susurration of rippling water, the crimson stonework, and the emerald sentinels of oak and maple trees will make you feel that you are in a sanctuary; the world beyond this grove of nature has slipped away if just for a small space of time. You are standing in our Deer Springs Grove Mausoleum. Here, your loved one is in a place of peace. Stand here and you will be transported to a place of reverence in which you can commune with your loved one.
Nature in its bare essence is the triumph of God’s design. With a concern towards protecting our environment and leaving nature pristine, we offer Green Burials. Under the auspices of the Green Burial Council, our Green Burials focus on leaving nature untouched with little evidence of man’s signature. Green Burials use non-toxic chemicals during the body preparation process. Our green coffins are environmentally friendly, using only natural materials that will protect the environment. Finally, our Green Burial resting places are in harmony with the native landscape. You or a loved one will be buried in nature surrounded by sagebrush, wildflowers, and wildlife. Look out upon our Green Burial Ground: violet, blue, yellow, silver, green—the kaleidoscope of colors from Utah wildflowers—paints a scene of untouched beauty. Deer and other wildlife freely roam. This is pure nature. This is a pure burial.
Lakeview Mortuary has a cozy reception room that comfortably accommodates a family’s pre-burial visitations and gatherings. Local chapels are available for service if you require a larger setting.
